India’s UPI Hits 55.5 Crore Users as FY26 Volume Touches ₹314 Lakh Crore

India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) achieved a major milestone in FY26, expanding its user base to 55.5 crore and processing over 24,100 crore transactions valued at ₹314.23 lakh crore. Official figures presented in Parliament by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary highlight a sharp year-on-year surge from the ₹260.56 lakh crore recorded in FY25. To support this rapid expansion, the RBI and NPCI have strengthened cybersecurity protocols alongside expanding UPI’s international footprint across key partner nations, including Singapore, the UAE, France, and Sri Lanka.
