After activist Sonam Wangchuk was moved to a private hospital on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) following the Delhi High Court order, Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh visited him at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. They also conveyed the government’s decision to initiate a debate in Parliament, sources said, adding that the ministers assured Mr. Wangchuk that education reforms are being addressed. They urged him to appeal to students to repose faith in the government’s process and avoid further escalation.Meanwhile, people including supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) continue to gather at the Jantar Mantar protest site in New Delhi on Wednesday (July 22, 2026). A total of 20 CRPF companies are being airlifted from Kolkata to be deployed in Delhi to strengthen the law and order in view of the CJP protests, demonstrations by various political parties and the ongoing Parliament session, officials said.
